In “Not Your Mother’s Hysterectomy: Advances in Hysterectomy” attendees will review the considerations of having a hysterectomy and receive a brief overview of the medical procedure and the various ways this procedure is performed. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive expert knowledge on the V-Notes procedure.
Description
Women have undergone hysterectomies, the surgical removal of the uterus, for hundreds of years. This life saving procedure has been used to treat vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain, and fibroids as well as improve women’s quality of life. Fortunately for women, medical science and technology has advanced throughout the years into the minimally invasive, scarless gynecologic surgery called the V-NOTES.
Tampa General Hospital and USF Health invite you to learn more about these advancements in hysterectomy with subject matter expert Dr. Jacqueline Amis. During this educational lecture Dr. Amis will review considerations to having a hysterectomy, what is involved in the medical procedure, the various ways this procedure is performed, as well as risks factors and benefits. Attendees will have the opportunity to anonymously pre-submit their questions and ask them live to Dr. Amis who is one of the few medical professional experts practicing this innovative procedure in the nation.
