Living with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy
In “Living with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM)” attendees will receive a brief overview of HCM and treatment options. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the panel lecture experts and join a HCM support group to learn how to live with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Description
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a complex condition that causes your heart muscle to thicken (hypertrophy). It can affect people at any age and is a major cause of sudden death in young people. While it is the most common genetically inherited heart condition, many patients are undiagnosed and report no symptoms. As the heart muscles thicken over time, some patients can develop symptoms and life-threatening heart rhythms.
The experts at Tampa General Hospital and USF Health invite you to learn more about Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy in a special lecture panel and meet and greet the multi-disciplinary team who care for patients with this specific condition. This lecture will provide a broad overview of HCM and its treatment options. It offers attendees the opportunity to ask their questions live and to meet other patients living with this condition.
