AngioScreen
Tampa General Hospital, in partnership with AngioScreen®, is providing screenings that look for areas of cholesterol build-up in your arteries.
Description
AngioScreen® uses ultrasound technology to take images of your carotid arteries and look for areas of cholesterol build-up which can lead to blockages. The ultrasound technology is portable, non-invasive, involves no exposure to radiation and can detect early abnormalities in the vascular arteries. AngioScreen® provides a snapshot of your vascular health and is designed to screen for the three proximate or immediate causes of stroke, abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs), and peripheral vascular disease (PVD).
AngioScreen® measurements provide a non-diagnostic assessment of risk that can be enhanced by consultation with your personal physician. Since AngioScreen® gives you your pictures of your arteries, our data may permit a more informed interpretation of risk in consultation with your personal physician.
The following tests will be performed during your AngioScreen®:
- Carotid Artery Ultrasound
- Peak Systolic Velocity
- Blood Pressure
- Ankle Brachial Index
- Heart Rhythm
- Heart Rate
- Body Mass Index
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Scan
