HFpEF Community Education and Support Group
The aim of this group is to support HFpEF patients and their caregivers as they navigate their heart failure journey. The support group will provide a space to share experiences with one another and will also be an educational opportunity to gain a better understanding of the disease process and treatment plans.
Description
Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) or diastolic heart failure is when the left ventricle of the heart is unable to fill properly with blood due to a stiff or thickened left ventricle. Over time this leads to fluid congestion into the lungs and the rest of the body resulting in frequent hospitalizations for their symptoms and poor quality of life.
The aim of this group is to support HFpEF patients and their caregivers as they navigate their heart failure journey. The support group will provide a space to share experiences with one another and will also be an educational opportunity to gain a better understanding of the disease process and treatment plans.
