Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program is a comprehensive training in mindfulness meditation to assist people with stress, anxiety, depression and pain. MSBR provides a combination of mindfulness meditation, body awareness, and yoga.
Description
MBSR is ideal for cultivating greater awareness of the unity of mind and body. It is designed to help you achieve health and well-being in the face of stress, pain, or illness. Based on a framework of psychological science, MBSR is on the cutting edge of mind, body, and integrative medicine. During your classes, you will learn stress-reduction techniques through guided instruction and group dialogue. These include mindfulness meditation, gentle stretching, and yoga. - One orientation class
- Eight weekly classes
- One daylong silent retreat
- Daily at-home practice
- Guided meditation recordings
Class Options:
MBSR is offered virtual or in-person. If you select the virtual option, participants are encouraged to have their camera on and please be aware that the retreat is offered in-person only. Please select the class option that works best for you.
IN-PERSON CLASSES:
- Orientation (in-person at 39 Columbia Dr): 1 hour – Tuesday, January 13, 2026 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
- Eight Weekly Classes (in-person at 39 Columbia Dr): 2 hours each – Tuesdays: January 20, 2026 – March 10, 2026 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
- Silent Retreat (in-person at Seminole Garden Center): 7 hours - Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
VIRTUAL CLASSES:
- Orientation (virtual): 1 hour – Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
- Eight Weekly Classes (virtual): 2 hours each – Thursdays: January 22, 2026 – March 13, 2026 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
- Silent Retreat (in-person at Seminole Garden Center): 7 hours - Sunday, March 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
IN-PERSON SILENT RETREAT DAY (for both in-person and virtual classes):
- Retreat Day is held in-person at Seminole Garden Center (5800 N Central Ave.) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Lunch will be provided for the retreat day
