Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a structured 8-week evidence-based program designed to help manage chronic pain, anxiety, and depression by cultivating present-moment awareness. MBSR combines mindfulness meditation, body awareness, and yoga.
Description
MBSR is ideal for cultivating awareness of the unity of mind and body. It helps you achieve health and well-being despite stress, pain, or illness. Based on a psychological science framework, MBSR is at the forefront of mind-body and integrative medicine. In the courses, you will learn stress-reduction techniques through guided instruction and group dialogue. These include mindfulness meditation, gentle stretching, and yoga. MBSR program includes:
• One orientation class
• Eight weekly classes
• One-day-long silent retreat
• Daily at-home practice
• Guided meditation recordings
Class Options:
MBSR is offered virtually or in person. Please choose the option that works best for you.
- In-person classes: Please bring water and a light jacket. There will be a 5-minute break during weekly classes.
- Virtual classes: Participants are encouraged to keep their cameras on.
Please note that attending the silent retreat is required for all participants and is held in person only, regardless of whether you attend virtual or in-person classes.

Cancellation Policy:
To receive a full refund, cancellations must be made at least 10 business days before your scheduled orientation, so we can fill your spot. To cancel, email mmelendez@tgh.org. Cancellations within 10 business days are not eligible for a refund, but you may transfer your registration to another class for a small fee. By registering, you agree to these terms.
Technology requirements: Internet access, computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone with video, microphone, and speaker capabilities.
