Effective Communication Strategies (Alzheimer’s focus)
Human communication involves many verbal & non-verbal aspects. Alzheimer’s can progress to a certain point where caregivers and family members need help with and strategies to be able to communicate more effectively with their loved one.
Description
Human communication is more than just talking and listening — it includes sending and receiving non-verbal messages through attitude, tone of voice, facial expressions, and body language. Unfortunately, as the disease progresses those living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia lose the ability to communicate using words. This program is designed to help caregivers and families find new & better ways to connect with their loved ones. Join us to explore how to be more aware of these communication changes that may occur with someone living with Alzheimer’s, learn how to interpret verbal and behavioral communication, and to identify strategies to help you connect and communicate more effectively at each stage of the disease.
