TGH’s Heart & Vascular Center of Excellence Heart Disease Education & Support Group aims to improve the quality of life for those living with any type of heart disease. This support group will provide a space to share experiences with one another and will also be an educational opportunity to gain a better understanding of the various types of heart disease and treatment plans.
Join us for a special discussion that explores sudden cardiac death risk in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). HCM is a complex condition that causes your heart muscle to thicken (hypertrophy). It can affect people at any age and is a major cause of sudden death in young people.
The experts at Tampa General Hospital and USF Health invite you to learn more about the sudden cardiac death risks in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in a special lecture panel and meet and greet of the multidisciplinary team who care for patients with this specific condition.
The aim of the HCM Support Group is to improve the quality of life of those living with HCM and their families, through ongoing peer-to-peer support and educational opportunities to gain a better understanding of the disease process and treatment plans.
