Esophageal Cancer Screening

According to The National Cancer Institute and the American Journal of Gastroenterology, “Esophageal Cancer is the fastest growing cancer in the U.S. and has increased over 500% in the last 40 years.” The screening takes less than a minute and involves swallowing a capsule to swab the esophagus. The cells collected and ensuing diagnostic, DNA testing will determine if you have precancer or cancer cells in your esophagus.

The American Gastroenterological Association and American College of Gastroenterology state you are at risk if you meet any three of the seven criteria below:

• Heartburn/reflux/GERD
• Male
• Obesity
• 50 years or older
• Caucasian
• Past or present tobacco user
• Family history of Barrett’s Esophagus or Esophageal Cancer

You are not responsible/liable for any portion not covered by insurance, up to and including the total cost of the test if your insurance denies coverage. We do not submit any unpaid claims to a collection’s agency at this time.

-          No food or drink for 2 hours before your appointment time. You may have small sips of water leading up to your testing time if needed.
