Head and Neck Cancer Awareness & Screening
Tampa General Hospital and USF Health’s Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery is providing a free Head and Neck Cancer Screening for the community.
Description
On the heels of April’s Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month, TGH is hosting a free screening, in conjunction with the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance. The collective category of head and neck cancers most commonly include mouth, throat and voice box cancer, according to the National Cancer Institute. This non-invasive screening takes less than 10 minutes and includes a consultation and physical examination. The exam involves inspecting the mouth, tongue, throat and neck for lumps, abnormalities or discoloration. This is a screening only and no diagnoses are given during your appointment, but medical recommendations are made if any areas of concern are found.
Please pre-register to reserve your 15-minute screening time slot.
TGH’s team of clinical pharmacy specialists will also be on site offering a free medication review service. If you’d like to speak with a pharmacist to identify potential medication interactions or verify if you’re taking each prescription correctly, please bring your list of current medications and supplements or the actual medications in their original packaging.
